How It Works
How it works
Our process is simple. We learn what your association needs, agree on a clear scope, and then manage the work with regular reporting to your board.
Our process
-
1
Request a proposal.
Send us your RFP, or contact us for an initial conversation. We typically respond within two business days.
-
2
Discovery and scope.
We meet with your leadership to understand your board, members, calendar, and systems. Then we propose a scope: full-service, à la carte, or executive director services.
-
3
Transition and onboarding.
We take over records, accounts, and system access in an orderly way, and document your processes as we go.
-
4
Day-to-day management.
Your dedicated association manager takes on the agreed work and reports regularly to your board.
Day-to-day
What day-to-day management looks like
Every client has a dedicated association manager who serves as the main contact for your board and members. When your manager is at an event or with another client, a designated backup covers your inbox and any urgent member issues.
Our in-house specialists provide editing and bookkeeping support. We work with your outside CPA and legal counsel as needed.
Your board sets strategy, approves budgets, and keeps fiduciary control. We manage the operations and bring any matter that needs a board decision to the board.
About AMCs
What is an association management company?
An association management company (AMC) provides the professional staff and services that associations need to operate. Instead of hiring and managing employees, an association contracts with an AMC for full management or for specific services.
There are two common models. In full-service management, the AMC acts as the association's management office. With à la carte services, the AMC supports an association's existing staff in specific areas. Parrish TAS offers both, as well as executive director services.
Frequently asked questions
Will our members know we work with an AMC?
Your association keeps its own name, brand, and identity. When we handle member service, we do so on your association's behalf.
What is the difference between full-service and à la carte?
Full-service management covers all of your association's day-to-day operations. À la carte services cover only the areas you select, such as membership or board support.
Who sets strategy?
Your board. The board sets direction, policy, and budget. We carry out the operations within the agreed scope.
Can you work alongside our current executive director?
Yes. We can support your executive director in specific areas, such as membership, meetings, and board materials, while they stay in the role.
Do you work with our existing bookkeeper and CPA?
Yes. We can provide full-cycle bookkeeping through our in-house bookkeeper, or work with the bookkeeper and CPA you already use.
What happens when our association manager is unavailable?
Every client has a designated backup who covers the inbox and urgent member issues, so your association is never dependent on one person.
Why hire an AMC instead of in-house staff?
An AMC gives you a team rather than a single employee. You get an experienced association manager, backup coverage, and specialists in areas such as editing and bookkeeping, without recruiting, managing, or replacing staff yourself.
How do we determine which services we need?
Start with a conversation. We review how your association operates today and recommend full-service management, à la carte services, or executive director services based on what we learn.
How much does association management cost?
Fees depend on the scope of services, the size of your membership, and your meeting and event calendar. Your proposal will outline the fee structure and what it includes.
How do we submit an RFP?
Use our Request a Proposal form, or email your RFP to micah@parrishtas.com. We typically respond within two business days.
Do you offer technology support?
Yes, as an optional service. We can administer your member database, website, email, and meeting platforms.
Ready to discuss your association's needs?
Send us your RFP or a short description of what you need.
